Krystol Internal Membrane™ (KIM®)

Krystol Internal Membrane™ (KIM®) is the original crystalline waterproofing admixture that transforms concrete into a permanent water barrier. Unlike traditional surface-applied membranes, KIM is added directly to the concrete mix, integrating Kryton’s proprietary Krystol® technology. This reactive system forms millions of insoluble crystals that block water pathways and seal micro-cracks, providing long-term protection against water ingress—even under hydrostatic pressure up to 140 meters (460 feet)

KIM enhances concrete durability by reducing permeability, shrinkage, and cracking. It self-seals static cracks up to 0.6 mm, resists aggressive chemicals, sulfates, chlorides, freeze-thaw cycles, and alkali-silica reaction (ASR). Certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61, it’s safe for potable water contact and contributes to LEED points for sustainable construction.

Compatible with cast-in-place, precast, and shotcrete applications, KIM simplifies construction scheduling, reduces labor, and eliminates the need for external waterproofing systems.
